EASYGEL PROTECT ANTI DUST SOLUTIONS
EasyGel Protect® is highly effective in controlling dust and hazardous particles associated with asbestos, lead, crystalline silica, and chromium VI.
Asbestos remains a significant public and occupational health risk. Designed specifically for high-risk environments involving asbestos, lead, and silica, these patented hydrous gel solutions trap fine and ultrafine particles at the point of impact.
EasyGel Protect® products are designed to capture and retain fine and ultrafine hazardous particles at the source. They help reduce airborne asbestos dust.

FAQ
What is EasyGel Protect® and how does it work?
EasyGel Protect® is a range of patented, pharmaceutical-grade water-based gels (99% water) and specialized accessories engineered by BCL Invent® and distributed by Derwent Industries.
- Source Capture: The gel packs fit directly between the power tool (e.g., drill bit, sabre saw blade) and the target material.
- Dust Suppression: It captures and retains fine and ultrafine hazardous dust particles right at the source before they can become airborne.
- Exposure Control: When used according to instructions, EasyGel Protect® keeps airborne asbestos fibre levels below the occupational exposure limit of 10 fibres per litre of air over an 8-hour workday.
- Hazard Coverage: Highly effective against asbestos, lead, crystalline silica, and chromium VI dust.
What are the main types of EasyGel Protect® applications and products?
The system covers drilling, cutting, and surface preparation across various trade tasks:
- Drilling Solutions (EGP Stickers/Packs):
- EGP100 / EGP100+: Designed for drill hole diameters Ø≤8.
- EGPSOL: Designed for floor drilling diameters Ø≤10 mm.
- EGP250 / EGP250+: Designed for drill hole diameters Ø≤ 14 mm
- EGP500 / EGP500+: Designed for drill hole diameters Ø≤ 16 mm.
- Adhesive Variants: Standard adhesive, high-tack adhesive (+ models for uneven/non-fragile surfaces), and adhesive-free options for floor applications.
- Pipe Cutting Solutions (EGP Découpes): Printed LDPE sleeves filled with EGP gel and secured with integrated cable ties for cutting pipes, bars, and tubes with sabre saws.
- Specialised Drill Bits (EGP Short Fluted Bits): Available in 6 mm (FAEGP6), 8 mm (FAEGP8), and 10 mm (FAEGP10) sizes with short flutes and visual depth indicators to reduce dust and improve gel sealing.
- Impregnation Gel (EGP IMP): Sprayed onto pipe surfaces or saw blades to suppress dust caused by tool vibration or thick material cuts.
Is EasyGel Protect® safe for potable water networks and sensitive analyses?
Yes. EasyGel Protect® is tested and certified for safety and analytical integrity:
- Drinking Water Certified: Eurofins test reports confirm that EasyGel is environmentally friendly and safe for use on potable water pipes for human consumption.
- Interference-Free: Contains no silicones, surfactants, or chemical substances that interfere with laboratory air sample or fibre concentration analyses.
- Regulatory Compliance: Classified as non-hazardous under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 [CLP] and supported by full Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
